Abstract
The aim of this article is to analyze the homoerotic and pederastic casuistry found in classical Islam, through the poetic anthology Basṭ al-a‘ḏār ‘an ḥubb al-‘iḏār [Exposition of the pretexts on the love of locks of hair] of the jatib al-Minhāŷī (d. 1585). We begin with an introduction to the concept of homoeroticism in Islamic legality and present the main factors coined by Arab poets about the Platonic-homosexual passion for adolescent, beardless, and child-like boys.References
